The AAPA is the premiere professional association for pathologists' assistants and is the primary provider and repository of continuing education credits for pathologists' assistants. The AAPA offers an annual continuing education conference designed for PA's featuring lectures and workshops by outstanding and nationally recognized speakers. Since 1972 the AAPA has been the leader in defining professional and educational standards for PA's. The AAPA has grown to over 1300 national and international members.

The AAPA is an approved provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences through the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program. P.A.C.E. credits are accepted by the ASCP.

 
The AAPA and the ASCP BOR have created a joint national certification program for qualified pathologists' assistants. The ASCP credential and its official designation, PA(ASCP), represent the gold standard for pathologists' assistants. More...

• 2010 Certification Exam Study Course.  The course includes AAPA Study Guide, flash cards, practice questions, CD with gross photos, reference list, and product description and chapter list from the most common books on the reference list.

• 2009 and 2008 Conference Videos.  One CME credit will be awarded for each DVD viewed and corresponding quiz completed.   There are 17 titles to choose from for both 2009 and 2008, and each series includes at least one safety credit.  Orders include a recorded lecture on DVD, a lecture quiz, and instructions for submission to the AAPA CME Subcommittee.
